Introducing
Jul 23, 2026
TL;DR: Starting August 17, 2026, Cboe's Options Exchange is extending trading hours for select single-stock equity options with a morning GTH session (7:30–9:25 am ET) and Curb session (4:00–4:15 pm ET). All activity routes over existing OPRA RTH feeds, so Massive customers get the extended data seamlessly, with zero code changes required.
Cboe is adding two sessions on either side of the regular trading day for a set of high-liquidity equity options. Effective August 17, 2026, the schedule for eligible classes looks like this:
| Session | Time (ET) |
|---|---|
| Pre-opening Queuing | 7:15 am |
| Global Trading Hours (GTH) | 7:30 am – 9:25 am |
| Regular Trading Hours (RTH) | 9:30 am – 4:00 pm |
| Curb Trading Hours | 4:00 pm – 4:15 pm |
There are no sessions on market holidays. Quoting and trading activity in these sessions will be disseminated over the existing OPRA RTH channels, which is why it will land in Massive's options feeds alongside the regular session with no changes required on your end.
Cboe designates the eligible equity option classes based on its own criteria, targeting the most actively traded and liquid names.
Anticipated initial list:
AAPL AMD AMZN AVGO BABA GOOG GOOGL HOOD INTC META MSFT MU NFLX NVDA ORCL PLTR TSLA
More session time means more options activity to capture, analyze, and act on. The practical effects for data users:

A SEC 8-K API that labels what actually happened. Query filings by event type (CEO departures, cybersecurity incidents, M&A), with source-cited tags.

In this post, we'll walk through how Earnings Watcher built its analytics layer on Massive's options chains and snapshots, why Fair Market Value anchors its scanner, and how the same API pattern extended from options into post-earnings drift analysis on the underlying equity.
