Forex Overview

At Massive, we provide real-time streaming access to global foreign exchange (forex) market data through WebSockets. Our feeds include quotes, time-based aggregate bars (both per-minute and per-second), and Fair Market Value (FMV) for supported currency pairs. By tapping into these streaming endpoints, developers, traders, and analysts can monitor evolving market conditions, power algorithmic trading strategies, and maintain up-to-the-second dashboards -- without the need for constant polling.

Feeds
Description
Aggregates (Per Minute)
Stream minute-by-minute aggregated OHLC (Open, High, Low, Close) and volume data for a specified Forex currency pair via WebSocket. These aggregates update continuously in Eastern Time (ET) and are derived from the best bid/offer quotes rather than executed trades. If no new quotes occur within a given minute, no bar is emitted, transparently indicating a period without market updates. By providing a continuous feed of updated market snapshots, this endpoint supports intraday analysis, dynamic charting, and the refinement of real-time Forex trading strategies. Use Cases: Real-time monitoring, dynamic charting, intraday strategy development, market research.

Use Cases: Live monitoring, market analysis, trading decision support, dynamic interface updates.

Market Hours and Timezone

The forex market operates 24 hours a day, 5 days a week, spanning multiple global trading sessions. This continuous environment allows you to access and analyze currency pair movements at nearly any time. To maintain consistency across diverse regions and trading sessions, all forex data is standardized to Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).

This global alignment simplifies time-sensitive analytics and ensures that your applications can handle currency pairs from various regions with ease.

Infrastructure and Reliability

Our WebSocket infrastructure is designed to handle the high-frequency, globally distributed nature of forex markets. By partnering with reliable sources, we ensure timely and accurate quote updates. Redundant systems, load balancing, and scalable architecture maintain stable, low-latency data streams, allowing you to respond swiftly to international currency fluctuations.

This robust setup supports latency-sensitive applications, such as automated trading algorithms and real-time analysis, ensuring your data is always current, consistent, and actionable.

Data Flow: From Exchanges to You

Forex pricing is decentralized, emerging from a network of banks, financial institutions, and market makers worldwide. We aggregate these inputs into cohesive, reliable feeds. Massive then streams this processed, normalized data directly to you via WebSockets.

As soon as new quotes, aggregates, or FMV values are available, they are pushed to your subscribed channels, providing a continuous flow of currency pair intelligence without requiring repeated requests.

Next Steps

Consult our documentation to integrate these WebSocket feeds into your applications. With a straightforward subscription model, you can focus on the currency pairs and data streams most relevant to your objectives, enabling tasks such as:

  • Powering live forex dashboards and visualizations
  • Supporting algorithmic models with immediate, high-frequency updates
  • Conducting real-time risk assessments and hedging strategies
  • Enhancing trading platforms with continuous, low-latency currency data

By leveraging Massive’s forex WebSocket feeds, you position your applications at the forefront of real-time global market insights, empowering agile decision-making and robust, data-driven strategies.
