How do I downgrade or cancel my Massive subscription?

Change a plan or cancel one product at a time on the subscriptions page of your dashboard, or cancel every paid product at once on the billing page; either way you keep your current access until the end of the billing period you have already paid for.

You can downgrade or cancel a Massive subscription yourself if you are on a self-serve Individual plan. Plan changes and single-product cancellations happen on the subscriptions page of the dashboard, and canceling everything at once happens on the billing page. Business, Enterprise and other commercial licenses are changed by our team instead. In every case the change takes effect at the end of the billing period you have already paid for, so nothing you are using stops today.

Applies to

  • Plans: self-serve Individual subscriptions can be changed in the dashboard. Business, Enterprise and any product not sold self-serve cannot.
  • Where: the subscriptions page changes plans and cancels one product at a time. The billing page cancels every paid product together.
  • What it affects: billing for paid products. Your Massive login is not affected by a cancellation.

How to downgrade a plan

  1. Open massive.com/dashboard/subscriptions. Plan changes are made here, not on the billing page.
  2. Find the product you want to change.
  3. Use the control next to that product to open its plan options. It reads Modify, Upgrade or Cancel depending on the product and the state it is in.
  4. Select the plan you want to move to. To stop paying for a product without canceling it, move it to Basic, which is free.

How to cancel one product

  1. Open massive.com/dashboard/subscriptions.
  2. Cancel each product you want to end. The rest of your subscription stays in place.

How to cancel every paid product at once

  1. Open massive.com/dashboard/billing.
  2. Cancel from there. The billing page ends all of the paid subscriptions on the account together and does not let you pick them off one at a time.

How to change a Business, Enterprise or commercial license

  1. Email sales@massive.com. Commercial licenses, and any product that is not sold self-serve, cannot be downgraded or canceled from the dashboard.

Why your access does not stop immediately

Your access does not stop immediately because a subscription is billed for a period, and canceling or downgrading changes what happens at the start of the next period rather than clawing back the one you have already paid for. Once every paid product on an account is canceled, the subscription moves into a pending-cancellation state: it stays active to the end of the current billing period and is fully canceled after that. What you are billed next depends on the term you are on, as in these four cases:

PlanActionWhat you are billed nextAccess until
MonthlyDowngradeThe new, lower rate at the next monthly renewalEnd of the current month
MonthlyCancelNothingEnd of the current month
One year, 2 months inDowngradeNothing more for the year you have paid for; the new, lower rate at renewalEnd of the one-year term
One year, 2 months inCancelNothingEnd of the one-year term

Downgrading part way through an annual term does not trigger a new charge and does not refund the remaining months. You keep what you paid for until the term ends, and the change takes effect at renewal.

Canceling is not the same as deleting your account

Canceling stops billing on your paid products and leaves your Massive login in place. Deleting your account and the personal data attached to it is a separate request: contact compliance@massive.com, as described in the Privacy Policy. We verify that you have authority over the account before we action it.

If you see an error

Your product still working after you canceled is expected until the end of the billing period you paid for. Canceling never shortens a period you have already been charged for.

No Cancel control next to a product means that product cannot be changed from the dashboard: Business, Enterprise and anything else not handled self-serve. Email sales@massive.com and we will change it for you.

Everything canceling when you wanted to keep one product happens because the billing page cancels every paid product together. Use the subscriptions page to cancel products one at a time.

For anything else, start a chat at massive.com/contact and the support team will pick it up there.

No, and the ones it withholds are the famous ones: SPX, DJI, RUT and VIX all need a paid Indices tier. Basic still reaches more than 10,000 of the 13,000-odd indices Massive publishes, and NDX and the Nasdaq Composite are among them.

    Description
Yes. Every extended-hours trade and quote is published, from 04:00 to 20:00 Eastern. There is no session parameter, so you select a session with timestamps, and expect far fewer aggregate bars outside regular hours because many extended-hours trades are odd lots that cannot set a price.
